Holes in Sheet Metal Model

Hi All,

Looking for guidance. There's been a lot of discussion on this topic, but I can't seem to find info to my particular issue. I have a situation where I have many PEM holes that seem to work fine in a sheet metal model. They show up in flat panel and show up in hole table. When I try and add new thru holes in the sheet metal model (like a separate line in the feature tree), errors ("Hole did not regenerate properly: hole creates invalid geometry") are generated in all the PEM holes. It's almost as though the addition of the new hole causes Onshape to "finish sheet metal model" at that point, instead of later in the feature tree. The original holes were made many years ago, so wondering if that's a factor. I can make it work if create the holes using Extrude feature, but of course they don't appear in hole table. What are folks doing? Should I not make holes when in sheet metal model?

Cheers,

Dustin

"Thanks for reaching out to Onshape Support. We've made a change to the hole feature that improves performance, but lacks compatibility with older sheet metal model features. As a result, you'll need to re-stitch all of the references made to the sheet metal feature definition after its updated in order to work with the hole feature. I've created a copy of the Part Studio in a tab called "ONSHAPE SUPPORT" with the updated feature. You'll have to go side by side and update the references. If you have questions or need assistance let me know."
