Hanging dimensions

How do I add the two diameter dimensions illustrated in this image

    Those are diameters (note the diameter symbol, ⌀). Click the centerline, then the entity to be dimensioned, then move your mouse to the other side of the center line (in this case to the left).

    Ah-ha! I'd been wondering that as seen it on a couple of screen shots here.

    Does it also work when dimensioning up a drawing?

    Thank you for the help. I knew I did an exercise that had that operation but I could locate it.
