PDF Display in OS

I wish PDFs imported into an OS document would display right in the tab without having to download them. Reason: It works well to keep datasheets, pinouts and the like of supplier parts with the CAD model, so whoever (re-)uses these components or contributes to the design work, is immediately in the know of the details. That's also true for doing live presentations with the CAD model in OS. It doesn't appear overly difficult, since most browsers support displaying PDFs anyway. Is there a reason it is not yet available?

Hi Martin,
Some of this is intentional - we've had incidents where PDFs were being used for phishing via Onshape.

@Vajrang_Parvate
Hi Vajrang,
I see. I am not talking editing or otherwise interact with them, just display them, and I guessed this issue had long been solved. Wouldn't it be a better approach to only disable any links in PDFs instead of just not displaying them at all?
To understand the status quo: Does that mean that when I insert a single part that already has a link share on it, into my document, there will be no PDFs displayed in the whole document no more? Is there a solution on the horizon? I mean it is not like there weren't numerous other ways of distributing malicious documents out there.
(A few minutes passing by …. )
EDIT: In the discussion linked (Feb. 2024) it was stated that PDF display is disabled for users not signed in (I am signed in) and for documents with link sharing on (I created a new document without any link sharing) so I should see PDFs in tabs - but I don't even see the PDFs I created from an Onshape tab myself. What is going on, then?
Wouldn't it be possible to at least display a PDF document as a 'dumb' preview in a resonable resolution, so people can read it or see what they get before they download it?
