How can I do that?

Hi, I need to have a tool to put on air filters from my motorcycle. It should be placed at a wall and the filter should go on there and hang a bit down. I will add a picture of what I want.

Can you tell me how to do it in onshape?

The black line is the wall. The black part is the air filter holder and the red should be the airfilter which hangs down so that the water can go in the lowest point and drop down. In case you care: we use foam filters so that would work pretty good.

The general approach is to brainstorm a design, which it looks like you are in the beginning stages of. A few more hand sketches to help pick a direction, then refine the hand sketches some more.

How will you make the part? What material? What tools do you have, etc. Those will factor into your design as well, and are often actually the main drivers of the overall design.

Once you have all that, take your sketch and figure out how to model it in cad. As you model it, you will probably find different or better decisions to make regarding the shape.

    Rinse and repeat:) Happy designing.
