Student documents

steven_colgansteven_colgan Member Posts: 1 EDU

Hello,

Im new to onshape, coming from solidworks. I set up 5 class groups, (approximately 140 students) and the students have signed up. We began some practice exercises (I did not create and assignments yet), and I am able to see all the students practice documents. Is there ensure that students documents do not appear on my homepage/document list unless they specifically decide to share them with me?

Thanks for the help!
Steven

    Hi Steven,

Welcome to Onshape! We have created the Educator Plan specifically to meet the data management needs of educators. As the owner of a Classroom, you have access to all documents created in that classroom. So, when you first log into Onshape, your default document view will be all of those documents. Understandably, that will start to look cluttered. I find other views more useful. For example, just click "Owned by me" to see only your documents or "Created by me" to see only documents that you have created. Those will be less cluttered views. And, as you start to use Classes & Assignments, you will find yourself going straight to the Classes view to access student work.

    Enjoy!
    Matt
