Repeating a pattern with fixed distance between the centers

Hi,
Forgive me for the questionable terminology, I'm still new to CAD.
I'm trying to find a way to repeat a cicle or hole along a path with a fixed distance between the centers to achieve something similar to the following:
I found a custom feature "Curve Pattern Best Fit" which allowed me to achieve this directly in a sketch. This document can be found here: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/9e45421e39a1a86c8382a35c/w/5899c8b5e8d17a263122f09d/e/2246cf50528e675b9d6ea2b0
I was also able to create something similar by extruding the sketch into a solid and using the "hole" command followed by "curve pattern".
The problem is that I need something slightly different. The two solutions I found don't space the patterns with a fixed distance between the center of the pattern.
What I would like to achieve is having a fixed distance (25mm in this case) between the center of the holes. Is there an easy way to achieve something like this? The only way I've currently found is to do this manually like this:
Thanks!

I guess the curve pattern measures along the lenght of the curve. so if it makes a tight bend, the actual centre spacing measured straight will be off indeed…
this example illustrates that. note also how from the fourth circle, there are actually 3 circles within the 25 mm range so all of those would be skipped if you go strictly by your example of having a 5 mm distance precisely.
