need help with the union option

I am stuck in the Learning Path - Introduction to Part Studios - Advanced Features/Exercise: Funnel
I am stuck on step 12 of 18. When I try to create a union between part 2 and part 1, I receive a response of (Boolean resulted in no geometry change. The parts either do not intersect or are totally contained). I am unable to create the desired one uniform color of grey for both parts.

Hey @james_anderson507,
Make sure that you select the entire sketch 2 for the loft selection, this will result in two bodies that overlap.
