External table content, creation, and modification

Apologies if this question has already been asked or answered in some form — I took a look around the forum and couldn't find anything that really fit my query.
My ultimate goal is to add additional thread specifications to both the Hole and External Thread features. It seems reasonable to do this by creating a new table with the additional thread specifications and then referencing it in a copy of externalThread.fs from the std feature library.
What is not clear to me is what this table is supposed to look like — what are the specific fields it will require and if there are any formatting specifics that are required. The easiest thing would be to copy and modify the existing table, but I am unable to find it in the public documents.
Thanks in advance for the help and sorry if I've missed something obvious (I'm new to this side of Onshape).
