How to curve this part to the surface?

tom_laheytom_lahey Member Posts: 18 ✭✭

HI,

Trying to use wrap, but cant figure it out… I cant get the diamond patterns to follow the curve. I can extrude the pedal from a side view, and curve it. but I dont know how to transfer the diamond pattern

I also thought there was a fill pattern feature that would allow me to select the space around the edges of the diamond pattern…my work-around is horrible

Onshape can't bend a part that's already been modeled (yet, I hope!). Your approach should be to model it already bent. Here's a quick example of how I might approach it. Though I'll say your model has a lot of wonky practices that I didn't fix. I recommend digging into Onshape Fundamentals in the Learning Center.

You can wrap sketches but not parts. There was a feature script that did some sort of space perimeter for a pattern but sadly I don't remember what it was or what to look for. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.
