Parts list for dimensional wood projects?

sloan_thrashersloan_thrasher Member Posts: 13 ✭✭

I'm designing things used in a wood shop such as a router table, CNC table, storage cabinets, etc. I need to generate a cut list of the parts used to build these things.

After I tried the cut list feature, but it creates a list with just the item and quantity columns. Instead, I want a list of the boards used, length, width and height. The part names would also be helpful.

The documents I've seen regarding the cut list feature show a description column with the dimensions of each part.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Should have included these screenshots to help clarify what I'm trying to get:

Try the Measure Cut List feature. It's intended for projects like this.

I don't see a way to include the material used. Is there a way to add this? Also, can you place multiple tables in the output, like with cutlist? I do have materials assigned to each part.

    This is what I see:

Make sure you have the material option selected. If your material changes, remember to press the refresh button within the feature.

Also, I've pushed an update to allow for multi table support. I think this would be a valuable addition to the feature 😎

I found the problem I was having with the material list - I needed to refresh several drawings and then add a version once the item(s) in "Add Version" dialog.were resolved.

Having multiple material lists is an awesome idea!

    Thanks for a great tool.

How do I use the updated version that allows multiple parts lists? Is there something I need to do to use the new version?

There should be a blue icon on the feature in your toolbar; right click it and select Update.

One of these days I'll finish my fork of Auto Layout that does frames by attributes instead of sheet goods nested by bounding box heuristics. The main hurdle is handling all of the curved and twisted cases. I need a general solid flex utility or to destroy and rebuild the geometry just for cut list purposes.
