Option to only open feature tree without 3D viewer

Very often I would need to check some part's info in a giant assembly. Would be a great boost for my productivity if either
(1) I can turn off the 3D viewer, e.g. no rendering of the CAD
(2) the feature tree is interactive when the 3D viewer is loading.
It would be nice if the BOM tabs etc can also be decoupled from the 3D viewer. At the moment, when the 3D viewer is initialising, everything is locked.
