Fastened mate

Rafael_PionettiRafael_Pionetti Member Posts: 2

Hello, I'm new to Onshape,

Fastened mate are taking a lot of time to do (loading time in onshape, not me). Sometimes it takes so long that the faces in the window of fastened mate disappear. Do you have any solution for this?

Thank you in advance!

Your computer probably isn't meant to process a CAD software and is most likely running very slow due to the 110 instances. You can try to either use a different computer that can run CAD software well or try to reduce how complex the design is or use less amounts of instances and figure out a way how to do it with less instances.

@matthew_rosete380 , Onshape uses cloud resources for all the "heavy" processing so the local computer only needs to display it's hard to be 100% sure without seeing the whole thing but I'm guessing the slow down is on the Onshape side, due to the large number of mates.
As for a solution, I would suggest grouping things into sub-assemblies for things that are fastened together and "lock" these in the top level so that the mates aren't constantly being re-computed.
