why is my extrude remove not working

simple extrude of letter M, want to see letter N on side; need to remove 2x triangles; why is it not working; only a small part; not overal. Probably because it ends in several bodies..

Have you provided the selection of bodies that will be in the Merge scope for the removal?
Also, can you share a view only link to the document?
