A hoop part moving around an arc part

bryan_cooper586bryan_cooper586 Member Posts: 2

I have four hoops moving around within a 180 degree arc, but so they don't pass through each other, like curtain hoops on a rail, but arched.

Can OnShape do this? Chat GPT said Solid works can do this.

    Use Solid works then

The answer is yes, most likely. Would need to see a visual sample to confirm.

No dynamic contact simulation in OneShape, use Solid work.

Yes, but Onshape's collisions are very limited at the moment. Currently rails are about the only thing that can simulate collisions.

Here is how you can do it, just change the shape of the circular sliders to loops; the mate mechanics will be the same.
