Problems editing after sharing

I'm having a very strange problem that I haven't seen anyone address yet: when someone shares a document with me, even though they give me editing access, I cannot edit it, I can just view it, and I cannot copy the document either. I don't know if it is a problem with my account, because when the same document was shared with other people, they were able to edit it. The same thing happens when I transfer the ownership of the document to that account. I tried it once, and I stopped being able to edit it.
Does someone have a similar problem? And how could I overcome this? Thank you 😁.

Are you on a free plan?
If you are, the document must be public for you to be able to edit it (assuming the creator is on a paid plan…) so I would check that first.
If you are on paid plan then I am not sure what might be going on…
