Does configured property material has to be recognized in assembly

Hello,
Well, I have a problem/question, and I hope someone can give me an answer. I created a simple flange configuration (in PartStudio) and added two instances, each with a different material (defined in Configured properties): one is Aluminium and the other is Steel. When I change the instance and check Part1 material, the material is different for each selected instance, and this is correct. Then I added two flange instances in assembly, one of Aluminium and other of Steel. When I try to find out material properties, OnShape gives me a warning "One or more parts do not have a material defined".
Evidently, in assembly, configured property material is not recognized. Is this how it's supposed to be in OnShape, or am I missing something? Please help.
Best regards!

I guess, that in an assembly, you should rather have the configuration swap the parts. You would probably also want to have the part number reflecting the material?
Thank you for the answer. After additional experimentation I found out that it was my error, I did not understand how configured properties works, I was under assumption that if I set configured property for one instance it will be applied for all variations of the same instance, like Flange A with 4 holes has material ABS then also Flange A with 8 holes will have the same material. But it is not like that I have to create configured property for every and each instance and it's properties combinations. Like Flange A with 4 holes has material ABS, Flange A with 8 holes has to be also added and material has to be assigned, it will not inherit material from Flange A with 4 holes. I don't know if I am making my self clear, bottom line is that OnShape works fine.
Best regards!
