Wrap a solid part around a cylinder then boolean remove it

Hi guys, I'm new to cad, so excuse if the question is a bit dumb, but for the life of me I cannot find an answer.

I'm trying to remove a part that would wrap around a cylinder.

I have designed a (flat) part, that I want to wrap around a cylinder, than remove it from the cylinder.

What I have tried:

  • Designing flat part, on a plane, than wrap and remove ( it is super time consuming and not easy for complex part + It does not allow for a chanfer to be added in onder for the part to release easily)
  • Designing the part then mate them in assembly and then edit in context to boolean substract ( cannot wrap the part)

Do you have any idea to make this possible?

Not a wrap and a little bit of work done with splitting the part to remove with a cylindrical surface or surfaces. Perhaps a method might be able to use.. - Scotty

Hey Frederic. Not sure what you mean by remove, but check out the updated document I posted and let me know if I'm on the right track - Scotty
