Extrude along a line featureScript

isaac_brown497isaac_brown497 Member Posts: 2

I'm trying to create a feature that allows me to easily create print-in-place hinges for a personal project.

One of the features is that I can define the angle the hinge is created at. how can I edit my script to make the extrudes occur along the same path as the line given?

Here is the document:

To extrude a shape along a line you can use opSweep(), but I don't see any reason to use that on a hinge.
Looks like you just need to draw your other hinge plate shapes and extrude them.

Can you provide a fully modeled example of what your trying to do? It's always best to prototype your feature before scripting away. You can often save a lot of FS steps by simply modeling it better before you start the feature.

like Michael said. featurescript may be overkill for this situation.
If you create a fully configurable part studio that allows robust hinge creation, you could then insert them into assemblies, or even part studios using the derive or even amalgamate custom feature.
