How best to add intermittent or partial welds?

Hi all,
What is the best method to add partial welds to a (composite) part? The part consists of beams reinforced with plates that are welded on a few spots to the beams. The Weld feature script is great for drawing continuous welds, but what is the best way to draw a partial weld (indicated in blue)? Using the Weld feature script the weld continuous through the beam (see bottom picture).
The reason for drawing these welds is for FEA, since some of the welds might be critical.
All help/ suggestions are apreciated!
P.S. I saw that this feature was already recommended for a FeatureScript Weld 2.0. Has that been released yet? I saw the last comments on it are about 7 years old…
