dimension arrows only showing internal - new user

Hi sorry if this question has been aske before but, when using sketches and applying the dimensions my dimension tool only seems to create arrows internally ←10—> not > ←-10.

I'm pretty sure it did this when I started the tutorials etc. but I can't seem to get it to work what am I missing?

Do the arrow locations have any affect in a sketch? You can drag the dim anywhere you want if in the way. Maybe you are confusing a sketch and the formal drawing functionality which has more controls.

Susanna, when I first started I encountered this issue as well. I believe all you need to do is grab the arrow and move it into the direction you want it. It will move along the selected plane and change from (-) to (+) or vice versa. Hope this helps.

Also, if this does't fix the issue, please post a screenshot. It might prompt us what's going on.
