Arc length dimension for curved pipe doesn't work in drawing

I'm trying to dimension a curved pipe's arc length in a drawing. I used the dimension tool, clicked start, end, and the arc itself, but this doesn't work. Instead it gives some sort of angle dimension instead.
The pipe is created from an arc in the part studio, and I can dimension the arc length without problem in the part studio sketch, but now I need that dimension on a drawing.
