Performance issues when handling large amount of parts

Hi Onshape community,
I have created a parametric design sheet to generate plans for segmented wood turning. Now the issue I'm having is that above around 10.000 generated parts, Onshape becomes rather hard to navigate due to lag. Are there any things I could do in my design to optimize performance or am I just approaching the limits of Onshape? (which are perfectly reasonable, don't get me wrong, what I'm doing is well outside normal use cases)
