opSplitFace with Plane or Mate Connectors

I can't get it to work with a plane or with a Mate Connector. Does anyone have an example of a working set of parameters I can look at? I'm confused as to what I'm doing wrong.
I should elaborate. Both the mate connectors and/or planes are created within the Featurescript. Out of bodyTools, planeTools, faceTools, etc. which is the correct one for a plane and which for an MC?
