Jackhammer Gear Cover Exercise Step 6 - Moving "Shell 1" breaks the part

When I move "Shell 1" to the bottom of the Features List, the part "breaks". The label turns red, a red arrow appears at the top of the Features List that says "1 feature failed to regenerate" and the "shell" function performed in step 3 in undone (the part is solid again). Plus the holes on one end don't go all the way through the part (they aren't visible from the top).
