How to shell a lofted area

Stumped on this one. I lofted an area between two faces and want to shell the underside of the lofted solid. All I get is red lights. Any ideas on how to do this? It's for a plastic part, so I want the top surface and be able to add ribs.
Thanks.

never mind, figured it out by just lofting surfaces and using Thicken.
