How do I untether this guy (the highlighted handle point) from the curve so I can freely manipulate it? I am so close to finishing the sketch!

Click on the "Show constraints" box in your screen grab. That should reveal the constraints in the sketch and you can delete the one (probably coincident?) that is binding that point to the curve. Select the constraint and press the "Delete" key.5
