Extrude a complex logo

I'm trying to either extrude or remove the linked logo/dxf out of a coin shape and the extrude/remove feature is only acting on a small % of the points.

I'd like to emboss or deboss the entire logo with all the detail, not just what appears to be part of it.  If the shape is to complex, then ok, but I'd like to know if this is the case.

images of what I'm seeing in the doc are attached.

I do get this error at the top of the doc "Some of the geometry intersects itself or is degenerate."

I'm new to onshape and trying it out following along with this video except the logo: https://youtu.be/wSBLOhIFz6s
Thank you!

My understanding is that for extrusion you need a closed contour, and the face has an enormous amount of lines/open contours. The large amount of intersections also make closed contour selections difficult.

Below is a short instructional video on how to format the halo and face to get it extrusion ready. Hope this helps, although now I see you did want to preserve "all the detail". Just remember, can't really extrude a line; you can lasermark it, but for 3D extrusion, it needs a shape.

The program used is called Inkscape, very powerful tool and free.
