When will extrude capability with an offset starting or end position be added?

This is a truly critical function. I'm not sure I can ever invest in pro subscription with a feature that powerful unavailable. Is it an IP issue?

You can already do this if you select the "Second end position" option and then reverse the direction using the arrows.
