I have just joined and looking to build an single story extention on my daughters house,and looking to draw the plans my self.Has anyone got any advice on how to start and can it de done on here as i am looking to save her some money.

Dean - welcome to Onshape. There are many free online learning resources right on the Onshape website (https://www.onshape.com/learn-cad-online).
If you have any specific questions, posting a link to a public document will usually get you several good answers within hours!
