Simplified Loft Guides Problem

Why do the horizontal guidelines work and the vertical guidelines not work?

I have spent several hours working on this problem and have run out of ideas.

The loft sections did not need to be broken up the way they were; a single ellipse path was all that was needed.  I converted your 4 segment sections to construction entities to preserve the relationships and created new sections that were simplified and that is all that was needed.
