Sheet Metal Help

I am trying to make what I have in part studio 1 using sheet metal in part studio 2. I hoped to do a Boolean on the second sheet metal part because I want the entire model to be on one flat pattern but that didn't seem to work.

Ya, with parts you have to approach them a bit differently. Instead of sketch-extrude-add-boolean... you need to think about it in terms of sketch-extrude-flange-bend...
