Control the end position of a loft

is there a way to loft a shat up to a part using a guid? I can loft the part but I want to control the end position so the end matched the surface that it come up to to. This would like the "up to face" command for the extrude function but for a loft.

One way would be to use the desired end profile to split the face of the terminating surface and then use that face in the loft.
