Help with Shelling

I made a previous request for help with this topic, but it still seems not to work. In this document I am trying to shell one of the pieces (edge) for SLS printing. I can't tell why, after splitting the piece, edge(2) can't be shelled along the selected face (see the broken shell command). Any help appreciated.

The reason seems to be the fillets around the outside corners of your model.that's a place to start anyway... There could be other sharp curves that are causing issues too. But I'd first try increasing the radius for those fillets5

If need be, you can add fillets to the shelled surface after the fact. In fact, fillets and chamfers should be the last features in your tree if possible.5
