Part disappearing in assembly after eat

Jeremy_DwyerJeremy_Dwyer Member Posts: 5
I made a document which included an assembly with a couple of part studios. The issue I have run into is that after editing one of the parts it seems to have just vanished in the assembly studio. It is still in the parts tree but its not entirely visible in the actual assembly model. I looked around further and I have found small pieces of the part which i can see but thats it.

I went back to the part studio and the part looks perfectly fine. Its just no longer translating to the assembly. Please help, I am experiencing a good bit of frustration over this.

    Hi @Jeremy_Dwyer,

Could you post a link to your document here?  It'll be easier to help if we can see the document itself.

A guess: I suspect (based on "I have found small pieces of the part") that your "part" is actually many "parts" in your Part Studio.  When you import a part studio into an assembly, it imports the current set of parts from that part studio, but does not set up a link to always keep that assembly updated.  If you add additional parts in your part studio, they will not automatically appear in the assembly.  If you change a part that is already in the assembly, it will update in the assembly (as long as the part studio and assembly are in the same document).  If you delete a part that is already in the assembly, it will disappear from the assembly and appear red in the instances list (as long as the part studio and assembly are in the same document).

This specific document i can't share in a public forum. But the part studio has 3 seperate parts in it and only one is showing in the assembly studio. They are in the same document. Nothing is showing red. Nothing was deleted. The other two parts just will not appear.

I went back and restored the history step just before this happening and it keeps disappearing the parts in the assembly after any changes are made.

Since you don't have a Pro or Edu tag when posting in this forum, I assume you are a free user.  In that case, you should be aware that your document is already public (the people who could help just don't know which one it is).

I do have a pro account and the document is set to private. Again, i appreciate that but due to confidentiality agreements I cannot make the document public.
