hello,
i am doing some complex assembly with a lots of parts and i would like to make some variables general, what i meen with general, that it exist in all the parts studio that i am doing, i could do the two parts in same tab that way i could use the variable but what i would like is to do it in different tabs and at the same time have some variables that i can modify in a generaly way that would modify all the parts.
also i use the post to ask something else that is really simple, is there any way to "separate" or lable features table like divide plane 1, extrution 1 and sketch 2 toughether (putting a different color or a line between them and the other features?
thanks!!!

1. Make a part studio with a sketch comprised of line segments that represent your variables, derive it in every other part studio and use the lengths for your variables. This is ugly and awkward.
2. Write a custom feature that sets the variables and use it as the first feature in every part studio you need. You can use the code here and just change the VALUES: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/8d0fd07c1493468baa468b99/w/e50845bda2bb873a51f63716/e/77760f311fa9bec69acb40a1
The awkwardness is that you have to go to the feature studio to see what the variables are.Ilya Baran \ VP, Architecture and FeatureScript \ Onshape Inc4 -
