Inserting objects into assemblies

I am in the transition from inventor to Onshape. In Inventor I modeld wood screws which I added to the contents centre to add to assemblies when needed. Could anyone please advise if this function is available in Onshape or some procedure that will do the same thing.

Welcome to Onshape! Since we manage data differently from a file-based system we actually do this naturally with our linked-documents. Take a look here for starters: https://cad.onshape.com/help/Content/linked-documents.htm
