Extrude a plate to a component

Hello,
i like to extrude a plate in a component. I chosse the add option and unite it together, but it dosent work.
Why i can extrude the plate ?

    union-extrude creates a body with zero thickness along the bottom edge, don't know what you going to archive but the rectangle need to overlap surrounding geometry
