How to use Imported Image as Geometrical Entity?

I posted a question a few weeks ago about importing image programmatically into onshape using FeatureScript:
https://forum.onshape.com/discussion/8807/how-to-programmatically-import-image-using-skimage
@kevin_o_toole_1 answered but I had a follow up question which was left dangling, so I figure I should re-post it again as top level discussion to see if I can get some love...
As Kevin said "... If you want to use the dwf as geometric entities, that will be more difficult, but possible. Let me know if that's your goal, I can expand more on what the right strategy is. ..."
I am hoping to extrude the imported logo image into a solid so to use it to engrave on a surface of another solid. Is this possible in Featurescript?
