Making a cut on a a parts studio in-context from an assembly doesn't work

This was a reply I got from Jake and it doesn't seem to work for me. The attached is just test of this method.that didn't work

- Set up the whole thing in an assembly
- Create a new Part Studio in-context of the assembly (there is a tool in the toolbar, or you can right click on the origin of the assembly)
- Use the "Transform" feature to "Copy in place" all of the ghosted parts from the assembly
- Do the revolve cut on the copied parts
