What's the most effective way to add a groove to a 3D model?

Hello,
I'm trying to 3D print glasses. I want the lens to slot into a groove that is in the frames of the glasses. Is there a tool that works even when the groove is on a curved surface (i.e. one of my lower corners)? Here is some reference imaging as well as the CAD file. Thanks!

Try the offset curve feature. This should do well for your purpose.1

rafael_telgmann This did work perfectly for drawing, however when I go to extrude the area, on shape doesn't seem to recognize it as an actual shape (probably because it's an open curve) is there a way that you know of to close it and therefore make it extrudable?0
