Rectangle icon missing - view has a dark bacground instead of white
First-time user and going through tutorials. When I open my first sketch the background is black instead of white and I cannot find the rectangle icon to draw a square. Advice?

If the background is black that's a browser/ graphics card issue. A quick search on here should find you some fixes. The easiest being try a different browser.

In Onshape, a black screen indicates that you are having a graphics rendering problem (or you're in dark mode). If you are in Chrome, check to make sure hardware acceleration is enabled:
- Go to chrome://settings/
- System
- Make sure “use hardware acceleration when available” is checked.
- Go to chrome://flags/
- Make sure “Override software rendering list” is Enabled.
