I have started storing some of my project notes, documents and photo's on a branch of the start off the project. Seem to work well. Here's a video I made showing how.

I like the idea of storing project data on different branches but when I wish to make a copy of a document the copy only includes the current branch. There is also no way to copy a workspace into another document. Because of these limitations and others I now store project data on my server instead on in the project document. I'm actually hope that Onshape has a plan for organizing data and don't feel that investing a lot of effort in a workaround is time well spent.
