I have a very simple "nut" and "screw."
How can I get the screw to rotate but not translate, and the nut to translate but not rotate.
I am trying to illustrate how the closed halfnut causes a lathe's rotating leadscrew to move the carriage.

You should be able to get this to work with the cylindrical mate and thread mate as you have done but you really need something here to lock it to the assembly. A revolute to the z of the origin and the end of the shaft seems to work.
Also, check out this thread. @philip_thomas gives a good description of mating nuts and bolts. https://forum.onshape.com/discussion/5494/bolt-and-nut-full-tutorial#latest

Bruce,
Thanks very much. NOW, it seems obvious.
