Rope and Pulley setup in Onshape?

Hello. I am wanting to construct and simulate a home exercise cable machine in onshape. Obviously this uses pulleys and ropes/cables. Is there any way to achieve this in Onshape? Thanks.

You can construct ropes&pulleys but we don't have flexible materials so simulating movement would be tricky.

Thank you. It seems insane to me. It seems even Inventor and Solidworks also pretty much lack this. So apparently with all the cad work done, people can't even simulate simple pulley/rope systems.

Though you cannot simulate the movement of the rope, you could use both named positions and incontext editing to create approximations of the system. For example, for a pulley system with a spring tensioner you could create 3 named positions in the assembly, min, max, and neutral. This would then allow you to use the belt FS in context to calculate the length of the belt at the extremes of the system as well as at rest. Either way, feel free to make the doc public and share a link here and several members of the community are likely to offer their guidance!

Can you make a rope-like object out of the spline?
