I am using a simulation program and it doesn't work if parts overlap. How do I remove the overlapping parts?

There are tools in Onshape that allow for fixing this. I would have to see the example in order to make a more informed course of action. Any chance you can share the doc with jdunne@onshape.com?

Hi Kai,
SIMSOLID is a new simulation program that does allow part overlap. As long as the overlap is away from the critical stress areas, there is no problem to include it. If you want me to take a look at it, please let me know. Share the model and I can do a quick calculation on it.SVP & Co-founder SimSolid | Altair Engineering Inc.
