Selecting origin position for spur gear

Hi Stefan,
This text is indicating that the feature wants you to select a "sketch vertex" to be used as the center. The reason this uses sketch vertices and not all vertices is that if you specify a custom center, the feature needs to be able to evaluate the sketch plane of the center vertex to determine the orientation of the gear.
So, make a sketch before the "spur gear" feature and put a point in that sketch. You will be able to select this vertex into that dialog box.

Thank You!
I did try everything BUT an explicit point, intersections, midpoints etc. Would it be a sound suggestion that implicit points like the ones mentions would qualify as vertices in future versions?

@NeilCooke wrote the script, I can discuss this with him. It could be possible to use any vertex if the normal of the gear was specified specified separately.

It has to be a sketch vertex, so that can be a point or where an entity terminates or joins another.Senior Director, Technical Services, EMEA0
