Part 2 has error. Failed to resolve instance

I made an in-context edit to my part. I referenced the "motor" geometry from my assembly, however, when I exited the in-context editing Part 2 disappeared from my assembly and the error appeared: Part 2 has error. Failed to resolve instance.
I am new to Onshape. Anyone have any suggestions? Do I have the wrong mindset for parametric modeling (coming from Fusion360)?

In Boolean 1 change selection order so that Part 2 is selected first :
Then the resulting part would have the identity of Part 2.6
