What tool should I use to connect these points? Please help

I'm really new to this whole program, and can't seem to figure out how to connect the two selected points below. 
It needs to be flat on the top because I am going to mirror the sketch and want the lines to be smooth. I added those little lines poking out the sides so that I could use the Match Tangent option with the bridging curve tool, but I don't really want all those lines everywhere. This is what I want, but it is a pain to do:



There has got to be a better way to do this...


I am doing this to use the lines as guides for the fill command. If someone knew how to extrude this into a whole piece, then that would be helpful as well. It is a shoulder pad for a death trooper.
