When assigning material densities what material do you recommend for plywood such as birch, oak, etc?

Basic plywood can be divided into three main categories: birch plywood (density approx. 680 kg/m3), mixed plywood (density approx. 620 kg/m3) and conifer plywoods (density 460-520 /m3).

Sounds good but are these materials in the Onshape material database when you assign a material?

You can add your own material library if it doesn't (may be a pro feature...)

Otherwise I have a material featurescript that can be modified for you.

Let me know if you want to go that route

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Most of my work is woodworking so it would be beneficial for me to have a library of materials including plywood. I am interested in this feature script you mention. How does it work?

It will be the last feature in you feature tree.

It will work similar to the current material selection and save its value to the part's material property.
It also sets mass properties and saves the weight in a custom property.

Because you have a free account, that may need to be set to TITLE3 or something.

You can have one feature set the material for multiple parts at a time.
So you only need one feature per material type in the tree.

If someone wants to make the code work with a .csv for the material, that would be great.
Until then, I have just been hard coding material...

Here is a demo of the usage:
