Folders in Part Studio or Assembly Tree?

matt_tabormatt_tabor Member Posts: 4
Hello!

I've run into this in both part studios and assemblies (although mostly assemblies), where I'd like to just clean up my tree by being able to hide or show all "like" components. I.e., what I've often done in the past is put all pneumatic fittings into a "FITTINGS" folder within the tree so I don't have hundreds of inconsequential parts taking up space. Then I can hide/show them as needed.

Is there a way to do this in Onshape?

Thanks!

Matt

Currently, you can add features to a folder in a Part Studio by selecting them, right clicking, and selecting the new folder option.

However, that functionality is not currently available for assemblies. You can vote for the improvement request here: https://forum.onshape.com/discussion/12562/folders-in-assembly

Then, you will be notified when the status changes.

That allows for new folders in the Features area.  Can you add a folder to put parts in, within the parts area?  Thank you.
